Privacy Policy

Woplay is a free browser games site. You can play without an account, and we keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the service. This policy explains what we process, why, and how you stay in control. Last updated: 19.09.2026.

1. Who is responsible

Woplay (https://woplay.co) operates this website and is the controller of the personal data described here. For any privacy question, or to exercise a right listed below, write to privacy@woplay.co.

2. What we collect

We do not ask you to register and we never ask for your real name, address or payment details. In practice we process:

Technical request data — IP address, browser type, language and the page requested. The IP address is stored only as an irreversible hash, used to rate-limit chat, count unique players and detect abuse.
Play statistics — which game was opened and when, so we can build the "most played" lists.
Chat content — the nickname you choose and the messages you send, together with the language room and the time.
On-device preferences — your language, chat nickname, favourites and recently played list are stored in your browser (localStorage), not on our servers.

We do not collect special categories of data (health, religion, political opinions and similar), and we ask you not to put such information into chat.

3. Why we process it, and on what basis

Under the GDPR and comparable privacy laws our legal bases are:

Legitimate interest — running the catalogue, measuring which games are popular, keeping chat usable and preventing abuse.
Consent — any analytics or advertising cookie that is not strictly necessary is set only after you agree in the cookie banner, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose data to comply with the law.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your data to build advertising profiles ourselves.

4. Third parties

Games are embedded from third-party providers inside an iframe. When a game loads, that provider receives your IP address and may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy — we cannot read or control them. The same applies to any advertising partner we work with. We choose providers that publish a privacy policy, but we encourage you to read it before playing.

We also rely on our hosting provider, which processes data strictly on our instructions under a data processing agreement.

5. How long we keep it

Hashed IP records for presence and rate limiting: up to 24 hours.
Play events: up to 24 months, in aggregated form afterwards.
Chat messages: up to 12 months, or until removed by moderation.
On-device preferences: until you clear them in your browser.

6. Your rights

You may request access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, objection to processing, and portability. Because we store almost nothing that identifies you, we may need extra detail from you (for example your exact chat nickname and the time you wrote) to locate the records. Write to privacy@woplay.co and we will answer within 30 days.

If you are in the EU or the UK you may complain to your national data protection authority. In Israel you may contact the Privacy Protection Authority.

7. Children

This site is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or under the minimum age in your country). Children should not enter any personal detail into chat. If you believe a child has shared personal data with us, contact privacy@woplay.co and we will delete it.

8. Security

We serve the site over HTTPS, store IP addresses only as hashes, sanitise chat input, and limit administrative access to named accounts. No system is perfectly secure, but we take proportionate technical and organisational measures for a service of this kind.

9. International transfers

Our servers and some providers may be located outside your country. Where data leaves the European Economic Area we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. The date at the top always reflects the current version, and significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
