Cookie Policy

This page lists everything Woplay stores in your browser, why, and how you can change your mind at any time. Last updated: 19.09.2026.

1. What these technologies are

A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser and reads on later visits. Local storage works similarly but is never sent to a server — it stays on your device. We use both, and treat them the same way for consent purposes.

2. Strictly necessary — always active

These are required for the site to work and cannot be switched off.

  • PHPSESSID — session cookie. Keeps the chat rate-limit and security token for your visit. Expires when you close the browser.
  • woplay_consent — remembers your cookie choice so the banner does not reappear. Stored for 12 months.

3. Preferences — set by you, stored on your device

These are written only as a result of something you do, never sent to our servers, and you can clear them at any time in your browser settings.

  • woplay_nick — the nickname you typed into chat, so you do not have to retype it.
  • woplay_favs — the game IDs you marked as favourites.
  • woplay_recent — the game IDs you played recently, to build the "recently played" row.
  • Language — your chosen language is part of the page address, so no storage is needed.

4. Analytics — only with your consent

If enabled, these help us understand which pages and games are used, in aggregate. They are loaded only after you accept, and never before. If you choose "Essential only" they are not loaded at all.

5. Advertising — only with your consent

If advertising is shown, the ad provider may set cookies to limit how often you see the same ad and to measure performance. These load only after you accept. Rejecting them does not remove advertising; it only means it is not personalised.

6. Third-party cookies inside games

Games run inside an iframe from an external provider. That provider may set its own cookies under its own policy once a game loads. Those cookies are outside our control and are not covered by our banner. If you would rather avoid them, do not open the game, or block third-party cookies in your browser.

7. Changing your choice

You can reopen the cookie settings at any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the site footer, and change or withdraw consent. You can also delete cookies and local storage directly in your browser — in most browsers under Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data. Note that clearing storage also removes your favourites and recently played list, since those live only on your device.
